Oops! Several days without a post. How did that happen?
Well I’ve been busy. I’m nearly at 60,000 words on Entangled, diving right into Act III. Friday I had one of those writing sessions that was like magic. It had been an insane day at work, and I had dinner plans, so very little time to write. I had the scene in mind that I wanted to write (even though it got buried by spreadsheets all day), and when I got home the words just flew out, almost faster than my fingers could keep up. I wrote 1500 words in like 35 minutes. (And the President of Glyptotronics, who is now reading dailies, says it’s his favorite scene in the book so far.) I don’t think I’ve ever written quite so fast, even during NaNo.
Needless to say, that’s unsustainable; yesterday’s writing was far more normal. But that’s fine. Honestly, it was like someone else was writing and I was just transcribing. But there was also that joy of creativity. It was cool, way cool.
And, left no time for blogging.
Yesterday was a getting-things-done sort of Saturday, plus lunch with a friend who hadn’t seen the new place. Evening was Writers with Drinks (which is always awesome) with Doctodd and the President of Glyptotronics and Red Shoes and Gentleman Friend of Red Shoes; then dinner afterwards at a yummy Ethiopian place. And after *that*, walking back to our cars, we passed a furniture store that I simply must go look at today–I have in mind a 50s-style console-cabinet thing to contain my stereo.
That, plus wordcount, plus grocery shopping, plus looking at an open house, plus Easter dinner (such as it is)–another busy day! But now I can check blogging off the list. Heh.
Sounds like a lovely evening! And yay for writing in the zone. That’s how it works for me at its best. Have a terrific day today.
