Accomplishment(s)

Up to 13,000 (and change) words on OUR LADY OF THE ISLANDS. I’m liking how it’s going; I’m following the outline close enough to not be losing track of the story, but making it enough of my own to feel like I’m still committing a creative act.

I was, indeed, out Very Late last night (or, erm, this morning), so I didn’t get all seventeen thousand things accomplished today that I had had in mind; but, since I always seriously overplan, that was all right. I omitted the least-necessary, longest-time-taking thing (which would have involved a drive to Marin County), and then everything else fell into place just fine. I did my word count, the WRPA I needed to do, the phone calls I wanted to make, and I even got to add a small bit of social activity to my evening, so I wasn’t a terrible hermit all day. (Says the woman who was out till 2am last night partying with twentysomethings.)

I am packed (sort of) and (mostly) ready to fly to Portland tomorrow morning…I hear it’s nice and warm up there. Which will make a very welcome change from down here. Meh. The sun did come out today, for a while, but I had the heat on in the apartment most of the day. This is just not right.

So, 9:30 on a Saturday night and I’m going to bed! Yah, life in the fast lane. For tonight anyway. 🙂
