Hither and Yon

So, yeah, as he said, I had my first reading yesterday, and it went fine. Okay, I was nervous, but everyone was very nice to me, and I survived.

I could even see wanting to do it again some day.

It’s been rather a blur of activity. I flew up to Portland Friday, was met by Jay at the airport, whereupon we drove immediately to Seattle. We were most generously hosted by the bravado111’s. Yesterday we headed over for the reading a bit early, so I could pace around nervously get a feel for the room, and then people started arriving, and then it started! Seanan McGuire read first, a brilliant story. Then there was cake, which I could not eat graciously declined to partake of. Then it was my turn…I read. Then I was done.

Then dinner happened. Yay! And that night we were most generously hosted by the jennifer_brozek’s, including much fun with their cats.

This morning: up early, drove back to Portland, changed into fancy clothes (well I did anyway), and now off to a wedding.

Back to SF tomorrow. Whew!
