Well OryCon is over…it was a LOT of fun, and I’m exhausted, just exhausted. And Mark is already long abed.
I had really good panels and a productive workshop–at least I think it was productive. The two authors whose stories we critiqued seemed to receive the news on how their pieces could be improved with openness and grace. It makes me think again about putting more energy into finding or creating a good crit group here in Portland. I miss my Zombie Club…they were so valuable.
After panels ended this afternoon, it was time to head out to Powell’s-Beaverton, for the AuthorFest mass signing event. I think there were about thirty of us. Mark and I were seated at the first table, so we had a lot of traffic, though our most sales came from folks in the long line waiting for Ursula Le Guin. 🙂 They had several copies each of five of the anthologies I’ve been in, on the table for me to sign; almost all of them sold, which is awesome.
I also got news this weekend that the anthology containing my story “Home” has now been released, in e-book format, from Morrigan Books. Hard copy to follow later, but if you’re electronically minded, Scenes from the Second Storey is available right now. Amusingly, I read this story at last year’s OryCon, and now here it is.
And, yeah. Tired and happy and not a little brain-dead. It was a good weekend, a good con. And I am SO glad it’s over.
