Tis the season when everything in the yard dies, so today I went out and made with the massive tidying. Most-all the ferns in the front yard: gone. Lots of pruning in the back yard too; I filled up my yard waste bin with plenty to spare for next week. Did some deadheading. Pulled up the cherry tomato plants from the pots on the deck–and WOW let me tell you, that’s not as easy as it sounds. (Therefore I left the big tomato plants for another day…) It was quite cold outside; once I got busy, I warmed up, but, brr.
Elsewise, I went and sat an open house with a fellow-realtor, in a training capacity, since I am not yet officially a realtor. That was really fun and instructive: my coworker is a fount of information, and more than happy to share it. It’s a psychological business, this, and fascinating because of it. Now is kind of a slow time in real estate, which is good news for someone in training, but it also meant that we had less real-world examples of folks coming through. (It was a gorgeous house, too; not a bad place to spend an hour or two, even if it did have no furniture.)
Then in the evening, La Enigma and her Consort came over bearing scrumptious homemade clam chowder. I provided bread and whatnots, and a splendid time was had by all. La Enigma was particularly entranced by the aquarium tank. Well, it is entrancing, I have to agree.
Tomorrow, for sure, I will finish the draft of this darn story!! Really, truly, I will. See if I don’t.
