It was touch and go there for a bit, given the weather forecasts and a late-in-the-day (and thankfully minor) bike accident that Thirdworld had last night, but morning came fairly bright and pleasant, and Thirdworld pronounced his knee hike-able, so off we went to Multonomah Falls.
We did the Multnomah-Wahkeena Loop Hike, and boy, was it spectacular. A steady, fairly steep climb at the outset, but gorgeous scenery:
At the top of the climb, we stopped for lunch/snack. That’s when it started to snow. Well, at first it was hail, and then it was kind of sleet, but then it was snow. Brr! We didn’t sit long. A pleasant, even slightly-too-warm day (well, when we were climbing) quickly got VERY CHILLY.
So we started hiking again. Now we were headed down.

From the top of Multnomah Falls, peering over the rail down into the parking lot waaaayyyy below
We made it back down to the starting point, sort of drenched and sort of freezing, but very happy and tired.
Reward!
Further reward followed, back in town: sushi dinner. Yummmm!
Thirdworld has gone home to ice his knee…I hope the hike didn’t do it any further damage. And I am confident that I will sleep well tonight!
