Today I did my first “floor time” shift in the office. That’s where realtors sit at the front desk and answer the phones (and therefore pick up any potential new clients who call in looking for realtors).
The phones did not ring once in my four-hour shift.
I had sort of expected they might not…being rather early on a rainy Sunday morning right after Daylight Savings Time (I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME I ALWAYS HAVE). So, I’d brought plenty else to do, and made real progress editing Nightcraft Mother.
When I got home, Mark was here!! 🙂 🙂 Of course he immediately needed a nap. Why did he need a nap? you might ask.
Because he finished his novel yesterday! And yes, I’ve already read it…twice, in fact–as it was written, chapter by chapter, and then a proofing read-through. Ooh it’s good. Just you wait.
Anyway, so this evening we had a celebratory dinner out, and then went to see “The Lorax,” which was cute, and just as subversive as the book, and had sort of annoying songs, but was basically fun.
And now I’m REALLY tired. Because I didn’t get a nap, and I lost an hour of sleep last night, and got up way too early for a Sunday on top of that. *yawn*
