I went hunting for a sturdy bookcase today, to use as a junk-and-garden-stuff collecting place by the back door. After being only temporarily distracted by wonderful cheap silver at Goodwill, and a new Salt and Straw foodcart on Division (evil!), I found the perfect thing.

Somehow, mess looks so much better when it’s on shelves.
Then I tackled the front yard. I pulled out gobs and gobs of a volunteer plant that was making a nice pretty ground cover, until it decided to take over and strangle everything. Then I put in a few pieces of granite to make steps, et voila!
Later, there was a fabulous dinner out at Bamboo Sushi, with my friend who needed the ER visit a few weeks back, and one of the friend’s other care givers. Many medical stories, much laughter, and OMG such incredible sushi!
All in all, a successful day. Maybe tomorrow I’ll even get back to the pool. 🙂
