Scene: INTREPID WRITERS have rejoined DAD and STEPMOM* for another vacation opportunity. This time on the Northern California coast.
5:00 a.m., everyone sleeping
World: RUMBLE RUMBLE BANG SHAKE CRACK
Me: Mumble grff WTF was that??
Mark: An earthquake!
Me: Hrm grumble really??!
Mark: I’d guess it was 4-point-something, and really near here!
Both of us: Hmm, we’re in the tsunami zone, aren’t we?
8:00 a.m., kitchen
Mark and Me: Did you feel the earthquake?
Dad: Yes! Woke us up!
Stepmom: Yes! So loud! And look, it broke this cutting board.
Mark: Look, all the pictures are askew, I shall straighten them.
Me: I shall look it up on the internet. (a moment later) Wow, it was a 4.3, and RIGHT UNDER THE HOUSE! Mark, you are so clever!
Mark: (straightens pictures)
Everyone: Good thing there wasn’t a tsunami!
So that was our morning. We’re wondering whether we should keep spending vacation time with these parents… 🙂
In other news, it’s been a busy and travel-ific week, with lots of visiting of many wonderful people. Including we got to meet the famous Boys, and see them get their fancy new collars:
