Today was the first day of the Cascade Writers Retreat–I haven’t written about it at all, sorry! The thing is, I’m not actually participating in the workshopping portion of it, so I was able to keep going about my business until time to show up at the meeting this evening.
Which I did, and saw so many friends old and new, and it was splendiferously fun!
And–before that, Mark packed up my Subaru with a bunch of stuff he needs for his workish thing in California, and then he took off, whereupon I went for a swim, and then did a bunch of proofreading.
Tomorrow, more Cascade fun. Tonight was the registration and meet-and-greet; I did not stay for the lecture on editing and revisions, because I have already learned all the things that that particular instructor has to say on those matters. (And much else.) But I did have a nice chat with the agent who is another one of the instructors. I always get the sense that agents (and editors) are pleased when people talk to them like they’re human beings and not OMG YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE READ MY NOVEL RIGHT NOW PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE???
And, well, speaking of novels, (perhaps) needless to say, no further work on Hobgoblin today…I need to not fall into this too-busy-to-write trap yet again! But, um, there is so much busy… you know?
