Greetings from the surgical waiting room at Mt. Zion-UCSF hospital in San Francisco! We talked to the surgeon a little bit ago and she was thrilled to tell us that Dad came through the surgery just fabulously and everything went as they’d hoped. She removed the tumor and left the kidney intact; she saw no evidence of further cancer in the area but cauterized it all around and took an additional scan just in case; both his kidneys and his liver are large and healthy. He’s in recovery now; we’re waiting to be allowed in to see him.
Whew!
He will probably be released Friday, so Mark and I will probably head home Saturday, what with one thing and another.
So relieved! 🙂
