Pretty Garden

Mark has been gardening for me all week–BIG gardening, with digging and replanting and nursery-going and dirt-moving and hardware-store-going and more digging and and and. And then setting up a whole irrigation system on top of that. Heroic! The cannabis seeds we ordered are almost here, we can’t wait to add them to the garden! Hopefully they grow nice and healthy. We’ll try our best as we usually do.

The temperature has been in the 90s all week! Way too hot for me to join him outside. Everything looks so marvelous, though, seriously. Here’s the front bed:

And the proud gardener in front of his work:

He also picked up new hanging baskets for the front porch, since the begonias we had there are suffering from a nasty mildew. They are undergoing treatment; perhaps they’ll survive. The new baskets look appropriately witchy, I think.

Meanwhile, oh my goodness, did I mention how hot it is? Thank goodness for window air-conditioning units. (which I only have in the bedroom, but wow, it would be impossible to sleep otherwise.)

Mark goes home tomorrow, alas. But I’ll head up to Seattle in a few days, for the 4th, to see the fireworks one last time from his apartment window. (For next year, there will be no apartment, and I am not sad about that!)
