We had a very nice weekend–EB, MD and JF came to the island for a visit, with the large dog Kai, and a marvelous time was had by all! The weather was punkish and wintry, as you’d expect. But that didn’t stop us from taking a wonderful hike, scrambling up the hill behind the inn in search of the trail.
An hour in, we found said trail; by now, it was nearly dark, so we headed down the hill and down the road, feeling quite pleased with ourselves none the less.
Around here, when we were not scrambling up mountains, there was lots of good talking by the fire, and some knitting and reading and writing and other such things, and of course plenty of eating and drinking; and, suddenly today was Monday and off they all went to the ferry and back to the real world, poor things.
Whereupon Mark and I began tidying, and then went to town to speak to the jeweler, and also to investigate the new Irish pub that just opened up, because such things must be investigated.
And now we are both VERY sleepy, and of course we all know what to do about that!
