Wow, that was quite a thing.
I guess it must have been the flu; we weren’t able to get our flu shots, as Kaiser just started offering them the day before we left for the wedding, and even if there had been time, it didn’t seem smart to set ourselves up for vaccination-reactions right before all that.
We might be almost well enough again to get our flu shots now! If they’re still offering them.
There were supposed to be a few weeks in between returning from the wedding and leaving for our honeymoon (Monday). We were supposed to go visit Mark’s father in his nursing home after the wedding. We were supposed to have our OryCon dealer’s table all prepped for by now.
As we mentioned in our vows, sometimes things don’t go EXACTLY as you’d anticipated. 🙂
But! we’re both feeling quite a bit better now. Mark has been feeling better for some days (but still coughing); I spent most of yesterday out of bed, and ALL of today out of bed (but still coughing). Yesterday was the first day I didn’t feel like Absolute Death. Today was the first day I’ve actually felt kinda good.
I haven’t exercised in weeks. My sleep is all screwed up. We’re completely out of money. The house is a shambles. The garden? Hahahaha don’t even.
We’re married. Married! I look over at his hand and see that gold ring and think, Oh! And then came the Publishers Weekly starred review! Which I am still marveling over. And the salad was so fresh at our reception, it came with bonus wildlife.
Life is good.
