Today has gotten steadily quieter and mellower…which does a witch particular good, I have to say. A jaylake might want more sound and fury, even in his wounded and drug-addled state; a California witch has a more sensitive soul, and requires a bit of peace to be at her most magically effective.
For effective she must be, as the luminous and mighty shelly_rae had to return home to Seattle today, alas (but not before rendering a lovely gift: see below!). And (after a delicious and clever birthday cake hand-wrought by the_child) Mark left yesterday. jkoke came down for a night, but he is gone as well.
