I stopped doing the Ashtanga second series (which I was only doing part of anyway) several years ago, when my hip and lower back were acting up so badly. That’s long since gotten better, but I got used to having the extra time in the mornings… I got spoiled.
Then I quit my job in December, and no longer have to rush into my day.
Now I’ve realized I no longer have the excuse for the laziness… and none of my jeans fit.
So this morning I started in on second series again. I barely remembered the poses. The Yogamistress let me go through Ustrasana; I’ll probably hang there a while, till I get used to it. Even so, it added 15 minutes to my practice, just those few poses.
And it felt FANTASTIC. (Except for, um, the kneeling part, on my wounded knee…)
I need to figure out a way to keep up my practice while I travel so much. Because, well, it doesn’t look like traveling is going to slow down any time soon, you know.
