-I’m reading in Bellingham this Sunday, August 28th: Village Books, 1200 11th Street, Bellingham, Washington. The reading/signing is at 4:00, and there will be lots of wonderful authors there! Come see us!
-I turned in page proofs for Mark’s and my story “Oh Give Me Land, Lots of Land, Under Starry Skies Above.” The anthology should be out late September or early October.
-After struggling a while, I hit a smooth spot in my work on Hobgoblin, where a whole bunch of necessary backstory seemed to flow out much more naturally than I’d had it doing before. Yay!
-Today’s swimming progress: I changed my “rest” breast-stroke length to the more proper kind of breast-stroke, with the putting of the head under the water; also, I experimented with taking a breath every three strokes during the crawl, rather than two (for better symmetry). It’s awkward, but I think it’ll be better if I can get used to it.
-My next-door neighbor is in the process of moving out. Yes, the one who wanted me to date him. We exchanged pleasantries as he was packing his truck; he said I could go pick apples off his tree. That isn’t a euphemism for anything. 🙂
-Bonus! 6th thing: I’m getting a second crop of strawberries, much bigger and sweeter than the previous crop. Om nom nom!
