Had a lovely day, driving up to Bellingham from Seattle, and reading at Village Books. People seemed to like my story segment. Here’s a fuzzy picture of me:
If you look closely you can see–yes–the Reading Glasses of Doom. They helped so much! Not only could I see the text so clearly, but the audience became a lovely unthreatening blur. I wish I’d thought of this years ago. 🙂
Afterwards, Mark and I had dinner in Le Chat Noir:
Very cool place.
On the drive up, we stopped at a rest stop. (Coffee and smoothies will do that to you.) We got out…and I said, “Hey, we’ve been here before.” Indeed, last October, on our way to Orcas Island, and I took a picture:
So I made him pose there again, of course:
Anyway, I hadn’t been to Bellingham before, and I found it delightful. It was lovely to see so many people–Jennifer and Jeff, Alma, Spencer and Krissy and their hobbit children, Keffy. The weather has just been spectacular. And it was a very cute city, at least the part we saw.
Tomorrow, hanging around Sunny Seattle; Tuesday, back to Portland.
