It looks like it’s going to get sunny here pretty soon….so my streak may hold. 🙂 But at the moment, fairly foggy, I have to say.
Before we drove up here, I did get some work done on the garden–specifically, digging up and dividing and trimming up the iris bulbs (okay, rhizomes, whatever), and then the PLAN was to just separate them nicely and plant them all back more or less in the beds they were in….well, that was the plan.
What actually happened was that I dug up and separated one clump, and planted ten of them in that bed, and was left with….
Roughly a jillion more. This picture doesn’t even do it justice.
I’ve got a few more places where I can put them–but then, I’ve also got several more clumps to dig up. So! If anyone local is interested in a bulb (okay, rhizome) or two, do let me know.
When they bloom, they look like this:
The ones I haven’t dug up yet (but will!) (but probably after Italy) look like this:
Anyway, it was extremely satisfying work to do, that digging-and-dividing-and-trimming. Just the sort of order-out-of-chaos thing I love. 🙂
