Yeah. Home sweet home. 🙂
You know, for someone who travels as much as I do, I’m really not much of a traveler. I mean, I’m not a comfortable, eager, enthusiastic traveler. I’d really rather be home. So it says a lot about the things I’ve been traveling to/for lately, that they could lure me out of the house (out of the state, out of the country…) so much.
Because, really, it was all good stuff. But DAMN I’m happy to be home. Can’t everyone come to me next time?
Also this one was a really exhausting trip. Lots of visiting, which was fun, but, you know, lots. Lots of driving, which provided a wealth of time for Mark and I to talk about fascinating things (more on this later) (and by “later” I mean, like, tomorrow or something–I’m quite brain-dead now), but which was also exhausting. Even when the weather was good, which it increasingly wasn’t. (Welcome back to Oregon: here’s the rain you ordered!)
But oh yeah home. Everything looks fine here–in fact more than fine: I keep noticing new orchid-spikes, everybody’s going to be blooming in a few weeks. It was dark when we got here, so I don’t know how the yard looks, but it’s November, so, it’ll be what it’ll be. I brought, um, some things to plant…just a few little orphans I picked up along the way (like a GIANT ANCIENT rose bush, ahem…). Also a new orchid (for indoors of course). But, tomorrow, all tomorrow. Bed now, because for some reason, though it’s not even 10, it feels much later. Oh yeah, I know why. Stupid daylight savings (though I was THRILLED about it this morning…)
