One of the baby shrimp came to hang out in the front of the tank, so I snapped a photo…you still can’t really make it out, but this helps give you an idea of the scale:
The reddish-orange shrimp you can see is a female; she’s orangeish because her ovaries are developing, and with any luck, she’ll be pregnant soon. (The not-currently-reproducing females are much more cherry-red.) The baby is the pale blurry thing on the leaf above her; I’ve circled it. To the naked eye, it looks just like a grown-up shrimp, entirely in miniature!
They’re already about twice the size they were when I first spotted them.
(So you see, Chaz, we’ve a long way to go till lunch…)
