Well the snow ended, alas, almost before it started; today was the day that we got all the rain we were supposed to have all winter up till now.
(And, in extreme weather weirdness, I note that Seattle (which I pay some attention to) has been twenty-plus degrees colder than Portland, and is having all kinds of snow, and ice, and freezing rain. Very peculiar–we’re usually within a few degrees of each other.)
Today I had to drive out to Gresham; the roads were flooded in many parts, it was very exciting. And when I got home, one of my smallish trees had fallen over–snapped off right at the base–and is slumped into the neighbor’s yard, almost onto her porch. (Well, not really a tree; but a butterfly bush that is as tall as the house, so I call it a tree.) I tried to pull it away, at least move it back onto my property, but couldn’t budge it. And now it’s dark and wet out. Perhaps tomorrow if it lets up a bit, I can go out there with my big loppers and try to take it apart some… Yikes.
And that’s all I got for you today.
