I basically spent all day working on Hogboblin today, unwriting…editing, that is, which at this point amounts to the same thing. I got through a whole chapter, plus I deleted the chapter that was from the POV I’m not using any more. (I read it, and decided it didn’t have anything the book really needed…so, it’s gone!)
I’ve cut about 20,000 words from the novel thus far, and am not quite a third of the way through it. Cutting 20 or even 30K more would be just fine with me, actually.
Further proof that a daily minimum word count while drafting no longer makes sense for me. Why crank out a bunch of wrong words?

I didn’t even leave the house today. Not even to garden. Each time I took a writing (unwriting) break, it was raining. Bleh rain, enough already!
