Retreat: Over

We are back in Seattle (again briefly) after a MARVELOUS retreat…I got so much done yesterday, I’m actually thinking this novel edit might get done on time. And Mark got well into a short story he’s been meaning to write forever.

It was such a fun weekend too, with so many great people, scrumptious food, copious wine, and all in a very cool location. There was no internet to speak of, but a while back I signed up for a mobile hot spot on my cell phone, and we were able to all use it, and not even drain all my data allotment doing so. Wiktory! So that was cool (and how I managed to make even those few posts).

Did a bit of shopping in Port Townsend today, then drove Spencer to Deception Pass, because otherwise he’d be riding his bike to Bellingham in the wind and the rain. This meant taking a different ferry and different road back, which was entirely cool. I didn’t take any pictures of Deception Pass because I was busy not freezing to death or being blown off the bridge into the water miles below, but trust me, it was amazing.

Then we drove to Seattle, had some dinner, figured out how to make the heat go on in Mark’s apartment, played a few games of backgammon on our new board, and are now preparing to head to Portland tomorrow. I was going to work on my edit more but it’s after 10 and wow I’m tired….tomorrow, definitely, though!
