All the Pacific Northwest is giddy with the sun, it is truly astonishing. Mark and I wandered around the university in short sleeves and sandals–and saw the lovely cherry blossoms in full bloom!

But they were so lovely, and the day was so gorgeous…yeah, not a problem.

Then we headed down to SeaTac, for the crashing of Norwescon, which we are not attending, in an official way, but we thought we’d drive down and see folks and sit in the bar. Unfortunately, not only was it horrifically trafficlicious to get there, the hotel also has this thing where they sell all their parking spaces to airport-goers, so anyone actually going to the hotel has to go down the road a ways to overflow parking, with a shuttle, and a series of complicated vouchers and tickets, and all that. It was ridiculous. It took us nearly two hours, door to door. (By comparison: getting back here tonight, even going over to 405 and across the 90 bridge to avoid the lane closures on I-5, it took us about twenty minutes.)

Annnnnnyway…despite all that, once we FINALLY got there, we had a marvelous time and saw about 10% of the people we wanted to see, but that was plenty for one evening, and they were very good people, and we’ll be back tomorrow! Earlier, so maybe there’ll be parking. Here’s hoping. Ded with sleepy now.
