We have arrived on Orcas Island, with a car crammed to the gills. The Real Innkeepers leave early tomorrow morning; we’ve had a few hours of overlap, asking them a jillion questions as they rush about packing and cleaning for three months away from home (huh, sounds familiar!).
We came in on the 6:25pm ferry (arriving at 7:30pm). So of course it had been dark for hours. But we brought everything in from the car, because tomorrow it rains. Our tiny “apartment” is full of boxes–
(yeah and we brought all our printers, we’re going to do real work here!)
–we will unpack all that tomorrow, when we’ve got the place to ourselves.
Our first guests arrive Friday. At least that’s the situation so far; people could drop in, of course, but I kind of hope we get a few days to get situated here.
Then my whole family comes for Thanksgiving. So there’s that planning to do too! 🙂
Oh and all that real work we’re going to do. Yeah, that.
For now, there’s a cozy bed which looks very inviting.
